Kim Crosen
Kim is our Christian education director as well as the director of the Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool. She is also the developer and director of our Active Christian Exploration (A.C.E.) program for day care and of our Summer Creation Camps for children. She has a passion for teaching children from a Christian perspective and her energy and enthusiasm are contagious. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and three teenage boys and is especially fond of a relaxing day at the beach.
Doug is a retired United Methodist pastor. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University, and holds Master of Divinity and Master of Theological Studies degrees from Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He has been an institutional stockbroker, a financial planner, a business owner, and spent 23 years in pastoral ministry in the West Ohio Conference. Doug loves Jesus Christ, his family, lacrosse, Bluegrass music, and is an accomplished photographer (see www.dougshots.com). He is married to Carol, his high school sweetheart, and they have two grown children, Jeff and Sarah, one grandson (sophomore at Miami University) and four teenage granddaughters.
Kerri Dome
Kerri is our Church Office Manager. She is available during the week from 9:00 a.m. to noon to answer all your questions and keep our ministries running smoothly. She is the person to see (or email) if you want something in the weekly bulletin, in the monthly newsletter or on the church website. Kerri has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wright State University. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys.
Brian Schlise
Brian is our Director of Senior High Youth. He engages the youth throughout the week and year with various activities that focus on: spiritual learning and growth, putting faith into action through mission work, tackling social issues our children face in their daily lives, and getting the group together for fellowship and fun. Brian’s goal is to help our young adults bridge the gap from simply being children attending church on Sunday mornings to becoming active Christian leaders in our community that are secure and confident as they continue their faith journey. Brian is a husband to Jynnifer and a father of four. He is active in coaching community sports and enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and gardening.
Carolyn Mabee
Carolyn is our Choir Director. She has been involved in vocal music most of her life, as a member of her church choir since 8th grade, as a participant in many school choirs and as a member of the University of Kentucky Choristers and the university’s women’s chorus. Carolyn also had a 22 year high school English and public speaking teaching career, as well as a stint doing drug prevention education for the Mendez Foundation and some corporate drug, alcohol, and tobacco prevention education. She has always had a passion for interpreting and performing all kinds of music and especially enjoys teaching the choir their new pieces. Gardening keeps her busy in the summer.
Penny Grimes
Penny is our Staff Musician playing both piano and organ for our Sunday services. She is a graduate of Wright State University, with a major in Piano and minor in Voice. She has served as a church musician for many years and is very comfortable in both traditional and contemporary settings. She is a piano and voice teacher and maintains a full teaching schedule, as well as serving as an accompanist for many local school choirs and playing for musicals. She enjoys singing in the choir and regularly performs piano/organ duets with Vicki Kuhn. She has two grown children and enjoys spending time with her granddaughter.
Vicki is a graduate of Springboro High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky and her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Supervision from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. During high school and college, Vicki played in the band and sang in the choir; she also was a majorette in both high school and college. Vicki returned to Springboro for her teaching career. During her 30 years at Springboro schools, she taught science, mathematics, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra to junior high students. She also was the junior high cheerleading advisor for several years. During junior high/high school, she was a member of the church choir and would play piano/organ for youth Sundays here at FUMC (formerly the EUB). Some years after college graduation she became the organist and choir accompanist here until 1996. Then she took a few years off and returned to accompany the choir and be a substitute organist. Vicki plays bass clarinet with the Centerville Community Band. Besides music, her interests include travel, arts and crafts, sewing, and photography.
